There is a difference between an interruption and a check-in.
An interruption says: stop now.
A check-in says: notice what is happening.
You can use reminders to ask whether you are still on the right task, whether you need a break, or whether it is time to write down the next step before stopping.
Use timers to stop work too
A focus timer is not only for doing more. It can also help you stop working on purpose. A visible session can make the end of work feel less vague, especially when you tend to keep polishing, checking, or drifting into another task.
